Private conversations

Private conversations

If I breathe my hopes and desires,
Would they mingle with your breath to gain new life?
Or will they just be the caress of the night breeze on your warm brow?

If I hum the song of my heart in your ears,
Would it mingle with your heartbeat,to make new melodies?
Or will it just be, tonight's lullaby?

If I tell you of my many dreams,
Would it become ours?
Or will it be tonight's fantastical bedtime story ?

Or by it's very nature, can it be,
That these private conversations,
Are the ones I must have ,only with me?

Conversations at sunset

Conversations  at sunset

At the lake shore at sunset,
The water rippled with laughter at something the wind said,
In the warm praise of the setting sun, blushed a golden red,
And laid out a shimmering, glowing path that to him, led,
The mighty river roared her exuberance at the dams' mouth, her loudest best,
The young river gurgled and giggled at the round rocks' jest,
Whispered sweet nothings to the shore in the quiet laps,
Sighed her sorrows to the sky in infrequent gasps,
Sang a soothing lullaby to the rising moon,
And I ,the inept eavesdropper ,hoped I could come again ,to hear it all soon.

Alarm clock conversations

Alarm clock conversations

A shrill insistent call cut though the clouds
Climbing up the golden steps in tranquil serenity, disturbed by this sound, loud,
Suddenly the clouds seemed to part
And the steps disappeared
Making me start,
And as I began falling,
Consciousness seemed to drift in,
And replaced the clouds, the steps, the soft golden light,
With a pillow, a warm bed and eyes shut tight,
And from that world to this ,the only thing that did follow,
Was that loud insistent call,
Let me lie here some more, I did plead,
I am so tired,
I want to escape to my world of clouds and see where the steps lead,
Replied the clock, I am time's servant and so are you,
I am duty bound to tell all too,
That the hour has struck, your day begun,
Wake up now, there is work to be done,
Yes duty bound , am I to announce to all,
Wake up now, you cannot ignore the master's call ,
So with a sigh, I stretched and stifled a yawn,
And opened my  reluctant eyes to a new day's morn;
Wondering where the short night had gone
Obeying this stern master that waits for none at all  .
