A Sigh and other poems

A sigh

Alone
I never knew,
I was holding my breath,
until I saw you,
and exhaled
a sigh.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For a friend

If ever my life is measured,by my words, at the end,
Let it be known, that they gained their meaning, in the shared silences,
With you, my friend.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The offering

The leaf waited, still, broad,
To catch the swiftly descending rain, outstretched,
Allow it to roll slowly off, trembling at its' edge,
A offering,to Mother Earth,as a gentle drop.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quivering silences

Poetry the art of spun magic
With words that thunder, tease, tremble,
Finds meaning, in the quivering silences, between.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conch shell

Conch shell clarion calls,
Curling incense smoke may fade, dissipate
But Mother prevails.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kiss of life

Reanimated the dry leaf rose,
spiraled astride,
the wind,
that blew it another,
Kiss of life.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Autumn moon

the young, autumn moon
hung low opposite, watched wide-eyed
a colorful sunset.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crunchy smiles

You hear the leaf blower for many a mile,
As it herds the wayward leaves into neat piles,
Jumping thereon, the children gather crunchy smiles.
